September saw the first Dutch Spotted Society Sale to be held at Lawrie & Symington, Lanark. As has been the trend, quality prevailed and the sale reached 4-figures three times, twice for shearling gimmers from Mr J Bell and R Buckle, Highfield.
1700gns Polka-Dot Felicity and 1200gns Polka-Dot Fancy Pants are both sired by Diamond Emperor, who was purchased from Carlisle in 2021. Felicity’s dam is Import IM1403 and she found her new home with Alan Smyth, Eden. Purchasing Fancy Pants, an Import Nova (IM0391) daughter was R & J Hamilton, Shawtonhill.
Also reaching 4 figures was the first prized aged ewe and overall champion, Keepers View Duty to Serve selling to the judge, Mr Jamie Gibson. Sired by Beech Hay Challenger and out of an imported ewe, IM0269, she was knocked down at 1000gns.
Topping the male trade was the male champion from Mr & Mrs M & J Simpson, Tardoes. Sired by Challoch Bassett and out of Import Marit (IM1899), Tardoes Funky Hunk was also purchased by the judge, Jamie Gibson, of Heatherlea Flock.
