Swatragh Society Spring Sale

Lot 16 - Derg Ivy ET sold for 2300gns Lot 13 - Knockmult Isobel ET and Knockmult Isla ET, sold for 1700gns

Sale Report: 2025 Dutch Spotted Society Spring Sale – Swatragh

The 2025 Dutch Spotted Sale season got off to a strong start with the Swatragh Society Spring Sale, setting an upbeat tone for the months ahead. Breeders and buyers gathered for a competitive day of trading, and the sale did not disappoint.

Leading the way was Lot 16, consigned by A Allen & S Shortt (Derg). Their January-born ewe lamb, Derg Ivy ET, stole the spotlight and topped the trade at 2300gns. Sired by the impressive 4,500gns Hotspot Hitman, Ivy drew significant attention and set a high benchmark for the sale.

Close behind was R Millen of the Knockmult flock, who had a strong showing with a pair of quality lambs. Lot 13, a pair of twin ewe lambs and recipient dam, Knockmult Isobel (ET) & Knockmult Isla (ET) sold for 1700gns, while mixed pair the same way bred, Lot 14 Knockmult Igor (ET) and Knockmult Ida (ET), followed at 1400gns. Both pairs were bred from son of the 20,000gns Diamond Frankie and dam bred top price ewe lamb at Swatragh Sale in 2022, attracting solid interest and showcasing the strength of the Knockmult breeding program, heading to Southern Ireland.

Lot 20 from G McClelland (MoneyScalp) drew plenty of interest at the Swatragh Society Spring Sale, showcasing a pair of eye-catching lambs that reflected both style and breeding excellence. The pair — MoneyScalp Indigo ET and MoneyScalp Independent ET — were standout entries, combining sharp correctness with strong breed character. Their quality did not go unnoticed in the ring, with the hammer falling at 1100gns for the duo.

Lot 17 from P & O Grant (Craigdoo) attracted keen attention. This January-born ewe lamb, Craigdoo Indie (ET) came with a notable pedigree, being out of a retained daughter of the renowned show ewe Craigdoo Firefly — a bloodline that continues to impress both in the show ring and sales ring. The ewe lamb was offered alongside her recipient dam, making it a valuable package for buyers seeking proven genetics. The duo went under the hammer for 1050gns, marking a solid result for the Craigdoo flock and further establishing the reputation of the Firefly line.
