Rams were in demand taking the top prices for NI Export at Ballymena Saturday 25th July. The Craigdoo ram lamb, Craigdoo Jagerbomb was tapped out Male Champion and topped the sale at 6,200gns from P & O Grant, Kilcoo, Newry. Craigdoo Jagerbomb, born in February and a full brother to last year's male champion Craigdoo Influencer, sold to Brian Davies & Louise Nash, Pembrokeshire, Wales.
Glentaisie Ivan, a shearling ram from James Reilly's Glentaisie flock, Ballycastle, sold for 5,500gns to Gareth McCabe & Marty Quinn, Castlewellan and Emma Allen, Loughgall, NI. The ram sired by Ballintur Gaurdiola, had already won his class at Balmoral, Ballymena, Ballymoney and Armagh shows.
Next was Brackney Just Do It, a ram lamb from N McHenry's Brackney flock, Ballycastle. Also sired by Ballintur Gaurdiola and selling for 4,800gns to J Atkinson & YJ Clark, Yorkshire, North England.
Topping the females was Ballintur Izzy making 3,600gns from Seamus Killen, Rostrevor. Izzy was the Overall Champion of the show and sold to L & M Ligget from Drumquin, Co.Tyrone.
Binnian Juicy followed on making 2,500gns from Adrain Trainor, Annalong. The ewe lamb was Reserve Champion overall and was purchased by Peter Morrow.
Some other top prices worthy of a mention; Hotspur Jagerbomb for 3,000gns, G & T Edgar, Kilkeel. Craigdoo Jack Daniels sold at 2,200gns, P & O Grant. Knockmult Ivanna made 2,000gns, R Millen, Coleraine. Diamond Jaguar sold for 1,800gns, E Allen's, Loughgall.
